multiple bank battery tenders
« on: January 19, 2012, 10:40:47 PM »
I am looking into purchasing a multiple bank battery tender. I am finding a wide range on costs for these units. Does anyone have experience with battery tenders and if so is there a must have amperage? Thanks Stephen

It looks to be more expensive to buy the multiple type than individual battery tenders.  Also I can't find where you can mix voltages on the multiple tenders .... so if you have 6 volt and 12 volt batteries it doesn't help much.  Looking on line, I can find only the manufacturer "Battery Tender".  Are there others?

I did a quick search for "battery maintainer" and came up with this unit for $40 from Northern Tool. It will monitor up to 3 batteries, 12V & 6V in series.

None of them seem to last more than 3 seasons in my experience, so I no longer spend much money on them.

From what I read about the unit,  you wouldn't be able to use this for multiple cars. Stephen
