What's the story about the W149?
« on: September 30, 2012, 11:06:42 AM »
Hi guys, while cleaning the differential, found an interesting indication on the casting - W149, instead of W136. Found almost nothing about that model in the internet, it seems it was developed as a model close to the 170, but was never mass produced and parts produced for it were redirected to the 170. Is that so, any further info? Thanks!

A very rare build.  It looks very similar to the 230 (W153) pictured below.  In addition to the 200V (W149) MB produced a 170VS and 170SV (prewar W136) all with the same body style.
