Yes, back in December 2008. Interesting that the reserve reached $2555. but the owner wouldn't sell. For the rusty condition (probably most its lifetime in the Northeast winters, maybe in an unheated garage and probably driven on the salty roads as a primary car) I'm thinking the value on this should cap at $3000 ?
Anyone else have an opinion as to the value based on the condition portrayed in the images?

This is a good parts car. I don't think that it should be $ 3000.00, or is that what parts cars are worth now?

On the previous posting the winning bid was : US $3,550.00 . It's not reserved, so there must have been a problem with the transaction with the buyer.

I was the second high bidder figuring at 63 I have time to learn to braze or gas weld and get this restored nicely in a few years. I believe it represents an important part of MB and German engineering history but also maybe too much work. So far the "winner" has not paid up. Someone told me about crazedlist.org for use to find a 170 but I haven't figured out how to use it yet. I use Google but so far have found nothing good.
