Why it is "Comby" not "Wagenwagen" or something like that.
what does combu mean? In my understanding it has to be a half wagon  ???

my understanding, someone correct me if I am wrong......

Kombi is a fairly generic German word to describe an estate, van type car.

wagen is German for car, e.g. Volkswagen.....people's car.
