Some 170v from the former USSR
« on: March 02, 2010, 03:37:32 AM »
I thought these might be interesting to see, 170v cars for sale in Russia /and other ex-USSR countries/. From a Russian website with car ads - http://autobuy.ru/nite.php?aid=874&aform=10        Some of these are almost new car types, having implants from many other models made through the years, to be kept in running order.

First, one restoration project. It's said lots of parts come with it, as well as a second coupe with chassis from some other car.

A 1937 one. Looks like a nice restoration, although some "alien" bits and pieces both inside and out impress even my untrained eye.

This one is announced as 1936 car. Heavy reworked, though they claim the original engine, tank and other parts are present.

Another seller, who will never win a photo contest. If understood correct, it's a 2-door.

1938 car. Engine and rear axle from Soviet Pobeda car /though they have the original axle, too/. Some Soviet instruments peek from the dashboard. /collected these photos from 5 different adverts, the guy posted each new ad with different photo/

In the end, something different. A 1936 MB 290 and a 1936 MB 200 /the sellers say so, I don't know the models and years/.

Hey Ted, thanks for the pictures and info,

 :)

its interesting to see how cars were kept going in the USSR, using bits from soviet made cars, where original parts were not available.

thanks for sharing!

Glad you like them, Des!  :) I noticed there are no cars from the "Cyrillic alphabet" word, so these might be interesting. Here are a few more.

One announced as a 1934 W28, but I think it is a 170v. Or at least the coupe. The leaf springs on the back tell me it may be half 170, half Russian vehicle. The radiator and headlights don't look promising, too.

1939, heavily modified. Engine and transmission from GAZ-69 Soviet jeep. I know that dashboard, it's from a Moskvich car.

1938 car. Poor thing, hybrid - I see automatic gears and modern clocks in there.
