This 170Va is a numbers matching car with the early under intake manifold mounted carburettor. The 170Va was promoted by Mercedes-Benz as “ein Wagen, der Ihnen Freude macht” = A car which brings joy to you!   So why not bid and be happy :-)  This 170Va classic will require a full restoration.


This 170Va is a great classic project car – being in long term storage for many, many years.  Features include: Suicide front doors.  Early dual glove box dash.  Early roof-top mounted windshield wipers, high hinged doors and louvered piano hinged hood.  Four 16” wheels. Amazingly it has the original SILGA windshield.  Original large letter SEKURIT door glass, early font door vent glass and rear glass.  Right front door glass is broken but an original door glass is included.  External lower hinge trunk boot lid with 2 lockable chrome L handles.  No keys.  Matching Hella headlamps.  Original grooved semaphores in place, right side appears complete, left side will require repair or replacement. Missing parts include generator pulley and right headlamp bracket.  Transmission is included but not installed.  Rust in floors, door bottoms, rockers, trunk and rear body panel will need to be attended to during the restoration process.  Bottom of grille has rust issues.  Seats are original but will require recovering.  Headliner and door panels will require replacement.  58,000KM showing on odometer - actual mileage unknown.


Included is the original VIN plate that mounts on the right side cowling (6" x 2").  Matching VIN plate and chassis plate numbers.  Also included is the Mercedes-Benz Karosserie number plate which mounts on the driver's door jam, numbered 1361109198/51.


Engine #: 170VA 136.923 10583/51.  Original gasoline / petrol engine with early under intake manifold mounted carburettor and air filter set-up.  Engine turns freely by hand.  Four speed floor mounted gear shift transmission (not installed).  Interior transmission cover is included.  Drive shaft and rear assembly in place.

Non-running rolling chassis vehicle.   Please email with any questions before bidding.  This 170Va has not run for many years and will require complete refurbishing.  A car trailer or hauler will be required to relocate the vehicle.  Any loose parts will be placed inside the vehicle before shipment.  This is a non-operative rolling chassis vehicle. Valid and clear Pennsylvania title.  VIN number on title is: 1028551 (serial number).  Vehicle is located in Reading, Pennsylvania USA 19601.  Car is sold as is where is with no written or implied warranty.
