1969 280SL Front Grill
« on: November 06, 2010, 08:37:53 PM »
Hello,
I have a dear friend that purchased a 1969 280SL and is the original owner, she is looking to have the front grill re-chromed and would like to know if it's steel or die cast, we would also like some suggestions as to where to send this for the work, we are in the Toledo Ohio area!
Thanks,
Michael

Michael,
Although I have not personally seen this shop, I am told that they did much of the chrome on my car a few years before I got it.  The shop that took care of my car for years in Columbus, also does a lot of repair and restorations for a wide variety of very unique vehicles.  Quite a place to see.
Anyway, he told me that the chrome shop he used is called Custom Chrome Plating in Grafton, OH.  It's east of you in northern Ohio.
They have a very nice web site so be sure to look it over! Here is the link.
