REAL 1950 Mercedes Benz 170Va Suicide Door Sedan. VERY VERY rare.
SELLING NO RESERVE.

Vin# 13606026313

This 170Va is the pre-war suicide door Mob style classic Mercedes. This is exceptionally rare with its body integrated spare tire. (Similar to the Models 170V, 170S, 170VB, and 170D).

Very desirable unmolested post-war style Mercedes. Car was featured in a Grey Poupon Ad in the 1980s.

You see the 220's but the 170 is extremely hard to come by.

The model 170V saved Mercedes-Benz company as the car was very popular due to its comfortable ride from its full-frame chassis (the last Mercedes to have such as they began to make the model 180 with unitized construction) with independent transverse leaf springs up front and independent coils at the rear.

This is NOT a kit car or replica, this is a real Mercedes with a clear 1950 Mercedes Benz Title in Hand.

Professional Restoration of the body panels. Laser straight all steel and no fiberglass / bondo. Completely rust free.

Original miles are unknown but odometer reads 49498 Kilometers.

Car was a "barn find" at a luxurious classic mansion.

Car is all original except for the following:

- Modern Toyota 22R motor (rebuilt and runs excellent).

- Modern Toyota Transmission (Shift smooth with no known issues).

- Aftermarket gauge cluster mounted below dash (original gauges still in dash).

- Updated cloth interior and headliner.

- Steering wheel.

Condition:

Paint / Body: As mentioned above, body is all steel and is laser straight. Body work was professionally done. Paint is decent and still shines. There are a few paint chips that have been touched up nicely (See pics).

Chrome: Chrome still shines but has some flaw areas (see pictures).

Mechanics: Toyota 22R motor was rebuilt 6 years ago with the complementary Toyota 3 speed automatic. THIS IS AN INDESTRUCTIBLE COMBINATION OF RELIABILITY, POWER and PART AVAILABILITY. Runs with no issues and shifts great. Everything is in good working order. Front brakes are brand new.

Misc: Car is complete except for front lower emblem and passenger front hood clip. Hubcaps are there and in decent shape. Some extra parts included (turn signals and another set of hubcaps). Wheels and tires are in good shape. Full size spare integrated with trunk is a bit tired.

Undercarriage: Undercarriage is very clean and is RUST FREE (almost impossible to find). Floor board are solid with no rust anywhere. Frame is solid with minor surface oxidation which could be scrubbed and cleaned off (See pics).

Glass: The glass is ALL original! Every piece on the car is original German glass including the wind screens on the driver and passenger windows.

Wood: The original wood framed windows are all in excellent condition with no rotting, etc. The rear window frame shows some evidence of age. (See Pictures).

Interior: Interior is in excellent shape with no tears or rips.

Make a sound investment in this rare classic Mercedes while enjoying it (and not dealing with expensive original Mercedes mechanics) or make a sound investment bringing her back to 100% original. Bid now for it could take years to find another original in this good of condition.

Check out a very brief video of it running (sorry camera battery died):
