How to remove a camshaft?
« on: November 12, 2011, 05:41:33 PM »
Hello,
I am having a lot of trouble removing the camshaft of my 170.  Does anybody have any kind of source to help with the process?  To be more specific what tools do I need and what steps do I have to follow?
Thank you very much.
Greatly appreciated.

You might want to get a copy of the "Mercedes Benz Service Manual, models 170V, 170S, and 170D"  while it doesn't address camshaft removals is a single topic, it does have the procedure for engine overhall.  The MB Manual number is SM1204-000 (english).  Also in German and in CD form.

I know that it is available from the Classic Center and probably can be ordered through your dealer.
