Wanted: M180 Block 1952
« on: January 14, 2012, 02:36:42 PM »
Looking for a M180 engine block with the cast number "52" (or 51, but that must be rare). In other words from a 1952 car. Just the block (no extras needed, no side panels, no oil pan, no filters, pumps, chain and not even crank or pistons). But needs to be intact (no cracks).

If you do have an extra oil pan or filter, we can talk about that separately.

Preferably in Germany of Sweden for logistical reasons (easier to pick up by car), but freight also possible.

still looking for a block? I have a '52 (in USA). Crank pistons, pan, oil pump are all there. No head.

I know it's a couple of years but....

I'm looking for some oversized pistons for another engine. Any ideas?

Harry

I have a block out of a '52 that you can have for the cost of shipping. If you are interested send me a PM and I will go dig it out and take some measurements and images.

@ mosesge I know I found some years ago through this outfit. Good Luck!

Pyro Pete,

I found the pistons from Metric motors in CA - quite pricey but they had what's needed and know what their talking about.

By chance, would you have the forward exhaust maniflod 9the one connected to intake . This has 3 studs to fasten the intake on.  The falnge on my exhaust mani where it bolts to the intake is very cracked. I have seen and actually have a 4 stud manifold (and see MB beefed this area up, but would like to keep originality and not replace the intake with an late intake (and I don't know if a later intake would even work with resect to how the air cleaner assembly bolts on.

Cheers mate,

George M

If Pete doesn't have one, I may be able to sell one. I'd have to see what I have.
