Mercedes 170S-D sedan 1954 in Australia

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mercedes-170S-D-sedan-1954-/270901925956?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3f13035844

This is a 1954 Mercedes Benz 170 S-D  ( Diesel)  sedan.  Manual gearbox - Light grey with red leather .

Occassionally we are instructed to sell cars that have been in our storage facility.  This car is owned by a family friend who happens to be one of the leading authorities and restoration experts on Mercedes Benz vintage vehicles in Australia.  He purchased this car many years ago as a extemely original and rust free example and went about doing a extensive but sympathetic restoration.

If you are reading this you probably know more about this model than me but at the risk of over sell this is one of the finest vintage motor cars I have driven and I assure you the photos do not do it justice. This car deserves a professional photographer.

The diesel engine is strong and crisp and pulls this car along beautifully.

The leather is original and the woodgrain has been re-done to the highest quality.

The side swing out blinkers work - everything is just about perfect so I think you would struggle to fault this car, If you follow my ebay adds you will know  I tell it exactly as it is and if I think a car is a dog I will say so but this car is a exception and I am proud to sell it.

I can assure you this country under values it classic cars compared to Europe so this is a chance to buy a high standard classic (vintage) car at what is not a lot of money in today's car world where 3.5 cabriolets are $250k

Inspection at Leichhardt Sydney by calling DOn on 0430 348 333 during business hours.

I can supply a NSW blue slip if required.  Start price is reserve.  $1000 immediate deposit required on winning auction.

And yes the studs in the door trims are as per original specs - we have photographic proof of there originality.

That is the factory color combination of my car.  Now painted black sometime before 1963.
