I received some photos today of work that has been done over the years. Here is a link and you should be able to scroll through from the first one.

Received the datacard today. It is pretty hard to read. Here is a link to it.

Still can't read too much of it, but does anyone agree that the paint color appears to be 524, which is Maroon ?  Haven't got a clue what the upholstery color is, but now the paint code is 620 (Light Ivory) which is the same as my 300b, and the upholstery is red.

The db524 is a very dark maroon color.  It appears that the upholstery was type "A2" which I will attempt to look up when I can get to my reference materials.

CraigS I had a look at the datacard... it's a shame mine was easy to read.

I think Ausschlag says schwarzer stoff A2 on your data card.

The seller of my car continues to work on it ! Here is his latest report.

Hi Craig,
Good news – I’ve got the engine running – oil pressure is top  - I did a compression test (spot on) -  clutch and brakes are working – did a run-around the yard – and all with the old carburettor (I have to modify the new on first!).

and some photos he sent

I was fortunate to buy this luggage over the weekend for EUR 960. It is made by Hepco and should look nice in the trunk ! Personally, I thought it was a bargain price.

Looks great to me.  That's something I hope to add to mine some day after several other things are addressed first.

Had this battery made for my 300b, and will probably do the same for the 170s when I need to replace it.

The previous owner of my 170 continues to work on it and has installed the carburetor I bought. Says it took a little to get set up and he had to change the linkage, but says it has never run better.

Tar top batteries are available in the correct sizes in europe, so you don't really need to have any custom ones made for your 170S.  Badges are also available, i.e. Bosch or Varta that makes them look original.

Here is an example of a reproduction and original by Bosch

I guess it depends on the cost to ship a dry battery to Australia. I suspect the freight cost would be prohibitive. I have seen these on eBay from Germany for around EUR 120, so by the time this is converted to AUD and the freight added, I suspect the cost is the same.

Good point!  However, I am surprised you can get a custom battery made for say EUR 240 or AUD 315.

The 6v one for the 170s will be AUD 180. The one in the photo below for the 300b was $250.

I found the Telefunken radio that I knew I had somewhere today. Not sure what the knobs are though. They don't look like they are from a 170.

The knobs should look like this. I think they are available from the European radio dealers. I still have this Telefunken and the square dial early Becker Solitude available for sale. I have a round dial Solitude that needs a tuner unit. Does anyone have a "parts" radio?
