Bearings rear axle
« on: May 03, 2013, 06:55:02 AM »
Hi, I am a New member to this forum.
Living in Norway, and have a 170 Va 1951.
Great forum.
Do anyone have a good and easy way to change the bearings of rear axle?
I have changed at front axle, and are going to take rear too.
In the same time all brakes, including master cylinder are rebuild.
Thanks
Jørn

Welcome!

Are you looking for the rear wheel bearings or the rear differential bearings?  Do you have a copy of the service manual for the 170?  The manual will help with the steps needed to accomplish either location,  but it is more difficult than the front bearings.

Hi.
I am looking for the rear axle bearings, and I do not have any manual.
I think I have to take out the drive shaft, so instructions for the hole operation will be Nice.
May be John, You can send me that in a personal Message.

Thanks a lot CraigS, this was exactly what I was looking for. :)
Have allready taken out the drive shaft, but this is very helpful.
Great with people that have the right knowledge for cars like this.
Thanks a lot.
