1936 Cab a Body
« on: June 14, 2013, 11:33:55 AM »
I am looking for information on the bodywork for the Cab A. I would also like details of the woodwork under the body.

Before starting the restoration I would like to know more about the body and what wood I might be missing or broken away. I know the wood for the top mechanism is not there on one side. Time has not been kind to the wood.
The floor pan around the battery is really bad.

What are the parts sources out there for these older cars?

Parts for the structural wood and some of the sheet metal are available from sources in europe.

Ron B is working on restoring a same era 170V roadster, and may have some helpful information.   Here is his current thread of posts

Henry Magno, on your end of our country can be of great assistance, or full restoration.  He has owned and restored pre-war 170V cab A's as well as 320's.

Also the following is a video of a pre-war 170 cab B restoration that will give you some idea of the structural wood.

Somewhere I have a picture of the 170V cab A with the structural wood exposed and new .... so will try to find it and post later.
