Can these pontoon 220s Windshield Wiper arm fit in the 170s or possible of modification to work with, is it a good idea?

I think so but you have to modify (reverse) the angle at the blade end. The ponton wipers park in the opposite direction from the 170S/220.

Since they need to be shortened anyway, you are at least starting form a straight section.
