Rear Window trim and rubber gasket for 1950 170S
« on: February 13, 2016, 10:04:17 PM »
Ordered replacement rear window chrome trim and rubber gasket from Europe, for big bucks, only to not be able to install it because it is way to large???

Were there more than one size of rear windows for this model - I can't understand what went wrong???

My window opening measures @ 29" at its widest part towards the bottom, the stuff I got measures @34" wide at the same point????

DAMIT - I wonder if I will ever get this car restored!@?*

Any input to solve this mystery would be helpful

Thanks in advance

GIB

If you have send them your chassis number there should not be any mistake. Call them to see where is the problem. Probably you could get real one and send back wrong one. Only if someone changed the roof in the past could be problems ( I know one guy changed his 170S roof with 170SB roof and they have different rear windows). That is an example of possible mistake only.
Hope this helps.
