1950 170S horn Ring Turn Signal Switch
« on: February 24, 2016, 10:26:21 PM »
I got the steering wheel off, and can't seem to be able to figure out how to take the signal switch apart from the horn ring.
I tried purchasing a full shop manual, a couple of years ago, but it never arrived - so I am on my own and looking for help. There has to a way of removing the switch assembly from the horn ring, but damned if I can figure it out and I don't want to break it. The switch doesn't seem to make contact for the turn indicators. VOM doesn't read any continuity, turning it in either direction. The horn works and the indicator lamp works. I admit it will be a real challenge to connect the wires back up, from the steering column - very tight space!
Any help and advice would be appreciated

NEVER MIND - I figured it out....all fixed
Saw a photo of the horn ring emblem for sale on ebay which confirmed my suspicions about how to get it apart.

Gib,

Wondering if you know how to install the windscreen on the front door frame of a 1951 170-Da?
