Flywheel replacement W187
« on: April 26, 2016, 09:04:15 AM »
I need an advice regarding flywheel for W187.

I have two different flywheels from two different motors ( I need both of them). They are the same but have different numbers:
- 180 030 01 05 original numbers from the parts list
- 180 032 02 01 from the W187 engine 1953 -came all together with original transmition

I have noticed that UNIMOG 404 have flywheels with 180 030 and 180 032 numbers. For example
- 180 032 19 01
- 180 030 24 05
- 180 030 27 05

Does any of these flywheels replaces original flywheels?
Is it possible to mill or material remove from any of those flywheels to install it instead of original?

I would appreciate any advice since one of them has a crack

Since the 220 flywheel was replaced by a slightly different flat flywheel in the 220a ponton, I would doubt that these Unimog flywheels would match up. Eberhard Karasch at Werner Karasch told me that newly made flywheels are available at reasonable prices as are ring gears. You might want to contact him.
