« on: May 07, 2016, 07:24:12 AM »
Hello All,
I looking information about  production model W136 170V cabrio limousine  two doors. Mercedes produced such a model in the year 1937? Unfortunately in the internet i find information only for 4 doors version. maybe someone knows anything about 2 doors Cabrio limousine, how many produce,  which  chassis no, etc.
I really appreciate  any information. :)

In my opinium Mercedes never bilt a 2 door cabriolimosine.
This car looks like it has been transformed by a couchbilder?
The rear of the car is also differend than a works merceds 170V W136
It looks more like the rear of a W15 model

Are you sure the chassis is a 170v W136 chassis and not a W15 chassis?
There was a model between the 170/6 and the 170v
This model has the 170/6 W15 chassis and the looks of a 170V
And ofcourse a 6 cilinder engine.

If it is a W15, the streched de body between  the door and the rearfender  with 15 a 20 cm.
But that is a match with the part of the runningboard that you are missing.
The Further used the frontfenders and enginehood of the 170V.
And the wheels of a 180 ponton.

Hi,

Can you put a chassis number than we can see according to that number is it w136 or not. I have posted a chassis number key in one of my previous correspondence. Here it is again.

Or you can try to find it out from Gunter in German forum for 170 cars.

Hello All,
The chassis-number is very hard to read, the chassis no. should be 21980.

I could be wrong, but looks like a 170V chassis with a couple of beams welded on the rear to extend it.

Very strange car.
most correct prewar parts.
engine , radiator, cast iron cylinderhead, waterpump,Dashboard incl clock, speedometer and oilpresure meter, steeringwheel ,Chassis, shock absorbers .
The are all prewar 170v parts.
Frontfenders,Radiatormask,and Motorhood also 170v
But the shape of the body and the size of the frontwindow are not regular 170v.

Dou you know the function of those 2 holes in the rear ?
The size of the front window looks post war, can you open it ?

I also ask the people on the German forum to help you.

Auto will be in my garage on Thursday, I will check if  front window opens,
I Dont have idea what is this 2 hole for the trunk :(
It is possible that the top body has been used with another car such as the picture below (the bright one)?

A closer look tells me that the wheelrims are prewar 230
The hubcaps are postwar ponton 180, the hupcaps from a 170s Fits on it.

Probably i find more info about this car, its partially - combination of MB 170 chassis, engine and hood, frontfenders, radiatormask with body from Wanderer W24... :(
I think it's not worth it to buy
