If you look on our home page, towards the bottom, you will see a section for technical reference documentation.
Inside there are links to download documentation.  There is a 220 Parts Manual (only made in German), a Workshop Manual in English, and I will try to upload the operator manual.  I though there was one in there but I don't see it right now.

Regarding your first question. . .
220 (Sedan) is a 4 door, hard top.  (187.011.xxxxx/yr)
220 Cabriolet (Cab) A is a 2 door, two passenger, convertible  (187.012.xxxxx/yr)
220 Cabriolet (Cab) B is a 2 door, four passenger, convertible  (187.013.xxxxx/yr)

There are a few other variations, but I don't recall their Chassis number designations.
"Gertrude" a.k.a. "Troidl"
1952 - 220 Cabriolet B

Be aware that with Mercedes, small case and upper case letter can mean a completely different car. A 220b is a fin tail 220 from 1960 on. While your car and the Cab A's have been referred to as 220A 220B for convenience, the model is a 220 the body style is a Cabriolet A, or B always upper case to designate the Cabriolet type.

This is especially confusing in 1954 and 55 when there was both a 220 Cabriolet A and a 220a sedan, which was the new ponton model. Originally these small case letters were used internally and by service and parts people to denote a major change in chassis or body. They were not used for marketing. If you look at a catalog in 1954-55 for example, the new ponton was still a 220 for sales purposes.

And i think Jumans reference to the Parts/ Operator/Owner Manual/books.
For the 170V models you have Edition /Ausgabe A, B,C,D,E.F and G
I never had a 220, but Scott just post a 220 Operator/Owner Manual book Edition D
