Type/VIN identification sign in engine compartment
« on: September 08, 2016, 07:46:36 AM »
Dear friends,

(Question relates to my MB 170S 1950)

The car identification sign mounted in the engine compartment is in very bad shape (both material as well as the original black painting)
At Niemoller it's possible to buy new signs - BUT how to make the inscriptions, with correct typography etc?
Anyone who have a recommendation ?

Best Regards from Sweden  :)

One of our members can make it for you.  At this time, I am forgetting who it is but I'm sure we can find that shortly.
Here is a photo of one he made for me.

Member "CraigS" is who I would check with.  He is the one that did the plate I showed earlier.

You should be able to find an engraver in Sweden who can do this. The font style may not be exact but they will have something close.

Thank you both for the quick and helpful response. Appreciate it!
And @Scott, your new sign looks great - I guess it reflects the quality of rest of the car :-)

Hi,

No problem.
Just find a local goldsmith!
