170V frame
« on: December 26, 2016, 06:19:08 AM »
Hi,

I have acquired 170v chassis. It has some extra supports welded to underside. Can you please confirm what model is it for?

Thank you

Hallo Szymon,

I have seen this before
The chassis is boxed for a Pickup, or convertible.
Do you want to exchance or sell it?

Regards Jan

Hello,

I am not sure if I want to sell it yet. I'd rather establish exactly what it is for. I wonder if it could be for roadster as I have seen one on internet with the same type frame.

I thought the boxed in sections on the roadster/Cab A,  were on the cross members, not along the length of the frame tubes. Was I wrong about this. The roadster I restored did not have this, nor the Cab A. Maybe this was for a commercial vehicle?

Henry,
You probably do not remember me but about 10 years ago I had opportunity to speak to you in Newport RI.
I own Cab B and the boxed in sections are only on the cross members.

Please check this out

That roadster seems to have the same frame.

I can see that it does have those reinforcements. I'm sorry to say my memory is not what it used to be. Remind me of your full name.

Becareful with your roadster
As you can see in my album you have the only early 36 roadster with the shipstar
On the otherhand you have the wrong radiator on the car.
And the steerringwheel is not correct.
