« on: April 20, 2017, 06:39:43 PM »
Good morning I have a Mercedes Benz 1952 220.
My issue is I have a red light witch is always on in the ignition parts of the car. My 6 volt car battery is not being charged properly. Please advice how I can fix this quickly. We are doing the samurai challenge in Japan. And we have broken down due to the fact that all the power husband eaten and the husband not recharging taking place. I look forward to your advice best wishes Julian

Check the generator. It may need new carbon brushes.

Is it on when the key is on, or is it on when the key is off. If it is one with the key off,  it can be the cutout contacts in the regulator fused together, which causes a short to ground from the battery through the armature of the generator, which is very bad for the generator.
