230 W1553 conrods direction?
« on: June 29, 2017, 02:18:43 AM »
Hi guys, trying to find out the correct direction to install the conrods of the 153 engine. Found out that these are not symmetrical. The head of the conrod, with the bolt bushing, is a little off-center, along the line of the piston bolt. So, on one side there is a longer part and on one side - a shorter part. Which direction should the longer part face, to the front of the engine or to the flywheel? Or would all be in one direction, or paired two by two, as the cylinders in the block are made in pairs, with larger space between the pairs?
Probably the crankshaft installed in the block would suggest the right direction, bu the bearings are not yet ready, so I can not check that.
  Thanks in advance!
