Hello friends, I'd like to hear your opinion, what color would you paint the W153 engine block? The car's color would be black. What would be good for the engine block: black, gray or light blue? /on some period photos, it appears to be some light color, clearly different from some black parts attached to it. like the oil pipe or the dynamo/.
I like it, I imagine it in gray or black. But also saying light blue, because I sent a question to Mercedes, what was the original color of the W153 cylinder block and gat back the surprising response, that "....The engine of the W 153 was originally painted. The color in the 1930er year corresponds to a gray blue. We have the paint samples (see picture) determined using the original paint residues. The correct paint can be used by Standox DB304 "horizon blue". It is quite bright and light blue.
So, if you had an engine to paint, for a black W153, what would you choose: black, gray or what MB said was original, Horizon Blue /as seen on the car below/?
P.S. The cylinder head would be unpainted aluminum, wouldn't it?
