53 170ds new to me info

Hi!

 I just drug a 53' 170ds om636 home-136.081

It was halfway taken apart a few owners ago. I'm missing a few bits like( front & rear glass, most all trim, radiator  & fuel cap,misc handles, even the flat side panels in between the hood and fenders.

The injection stuff was taken apart, and tossed inside on the floor. Thankfully I have everything- but the injector return line fittings.   The engine was locked tight, but I got it apart.  Was stuck from sitting(maybe why injection pump was removed?).  Anyway it turns very nice, feels like good compression.

To me it looks like it was fixed up sometime in the late 70's.  Then more recently sanded down for body work.     Interior is there, but kinda not great.

On a plus side the dash wash left alone.   The clock still works perfect.  Makes up for the rest of the car! 

So I guess the next thing is to make it run. If so, then some painting needs to happen. Get some glass somehow...

By any chance would anyone know where the timing marks are on this om636?   There is nothing on the front cover, or pulley.

In a later industrial engine  book, it talked about some engines have a spot on the flywheel.    I found one spot, in a hole on the bellhousing(passenger side).

Is this a timing mark?  TDC, or injection timing?

I don't see it covered in the factory books. The big manual from here says to see pages 59-83.  These are missing...
